The IDC Staff Instructor course trains Master Scuba Diver Trainers to act as assistants during instructor-level training courses. The course overviews the entire PADI Instructor Development programme and requires candidates to participate in evaluation training, demonstrate role model teaching skills and dive theory knowledge.

The Fun Part

PADI IDC Staff Instructors are an integral part of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), and you what you will learn will set the stage for moving on to PADI Course Director. During your training you will watch and learn as an experienced PADI Cousre Director presents topics in the IDC - something you will be able to do after certification. We will also show you how we put a focus on neutral buoyancy teaching throughout the programme.

Many dive centre or resort management positions require this level of Instructor experience and training, making this an important step if you are considering a career in a Dive Centre or you want to open a dive shop or resort.

What You Learn

• You become a master of instructor-level dive theory, knowledge development teaching presentations and confined water teaching presentations.
• You will learn how to evaluate PADI IDC candidates' teaching resentations.
• You audit a complete IDC as a staff member rather than as a student.

What You Can Teach:

In addition to all the courses you can teach as a PADI Instructor, you can also:

• Teach PADI Assistant Instructor courses.
• Assist PADI Course Directors in conducting the PADI Instructor Development Course.
• Assist PADI Course Directors in conducting instructor-level continuing education.

Prerequisites:

You must be

• A PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer certification.
• An EFR Instructor.
• At least 18 years old.

What do you pay ?

The price for our PADI IDC Staff Instructor course is 22,500 Thai Baht. This price does not include the PADI Materials nor the PADI application fee.  You will also need to purchase a PADI Course Director Manual and the Evaluation Slates necessary to take this course - please see our Prices page for details.  At the end of the training you will need to pay PADI AUD$173 for the application fee.
